Studio Haran Ltd was founded by Joel and Helena Haran in 2014. The husband-and-wife duo met on the Sustainable product design course at Falmouth University in Cornwall. Their collaboration permeates every product. Joel’s mastery of woodwork merges seamlessly with Helena’s finesse in ceramics, creating a harmonious fusion of disciplines. Their use of natural materials and simple aesthetic is inspired by the beautiful environment that surrounds them.
The Workshop
Studio Haran manufacture their lighting on a beautiful rural farm in Mylor in Cornwall. They have separate light and spacious workshops for the wood craft and ceramics and a small office/showroom. They are also surrounded by other creative businesses on the farm. Alongside livestock and agricultural buildings and machinery the farm is certainly a vibrant and exciting place to run a business.
The Team
Craftsman ship is at the core of Studio Haran. Each product is expertly handcrafted in our workshop by a high skilled team. Whether is be slip casting or glazing or sanding or oiling, each team member is multi-skilled and able to work on various parts of the manufacturing process. Alongside working for Studio Haran most of the team have their own creative pursuits which is very inspiring to work alongside filling the studio with new ideas and energy. Our team, carefully curated for their unique skills, reflects a conscious decision to remain small, fostering a personable connection with each creation. This deliberate approach to growth ensures sustainability while preserving an intimate bond with Studio Haran’s essence.
